Why is the Narconon® Program So Successful?

1. It Addresses the real cause of relapse – Cravings.

While other programs rely on prayer and meditation to prevent relapse.  The Narconon Program uses a proven scientific method for detoxification. Essentially eliminating the desire for continued drug use.  This has been proven successful with thousands of Narconon students.  After the chemical residuals of drug use are removed cravings disappear and the student can continue in the program.

2. It Handles the underlying issues that caused the Addiction.

Most programs rely on group counseling and meetings prevent further drug use.  The Narconon Program uses a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which handles the root cause of drug use – Behavior.

By helping our clients confront their own issues the Narconon program allows the client to break free from the downward spiral of drug abuse and insures that they realize that drugs use is not a solution.

3. It Teaches Life Skills

The long term nature of the Narconon program allows a unique ability to teach many of the skills our clients have failed to learn on their own.  By encouraging them to develop healthy habits our program encourages long term success. The founder of the program recognized that the drug addiction was a lack of ability of the drug addict to live life and became one of the first programs to educate addicts on how to actually live life without the use of drugs.

4. Relapse Prevention

Even with the body completely cleansed of drug residues, old behaviors can return without tools to prevent them. Learning the who, what and when of what is likely to cause these relapse is a critical part of the program.

5. Aftercare Program

A comprehensive aftercare plan is developed before graduation from our program.  The student does not graduate until they have established a workable plan for when they return home.  This is strengthen by follow ups from Narconon counselors to ensure the person is doing well.

William Benitez

The first Narconon was founded by William Benitez, an inmate at Arizona State Prison. Mr. Benitez was a heroin addict who could not seem to get off of drugs using traditional forms of treatment.After being sentenced to prison he had a realization that drug addiction had caused most of the problems in his life, including the current one. He set out to change himself through self-improvement.

Since its founding Narconon has provided a way for drug addicts to get clean without the need for more drugs.  The Narconon program is based on a workable approach to drug addiction that does not consider disease an incurable disease that can never be overcome.
